Bars
Eat one bar within 60 minutes of finishing a hard run for solid recovery. Each bar packs about 18 g of protein and 30 g of carbs, hitting the recovery window nicely. Use unflavored or vanilla whey isolate for the cleanest taste. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for 2 months.
In a food processor, blend the dates, almond butter, and honey until a smooth paste forms.
Transfer to a large bowl. Add the oats, whey protein, ground flaxseed, sea salt, and chocolate chips. Mix well, kneading with hands if needed.
If the mixture is too dry, add 1-2 tbsp water. If too wet, add more oats.
Press firmly into an 8x8 dish lined with parchment.
Refrigerate at least 1 hour to firm up.
Lift out and cut into 8 bars. Wrap individually for grab-and-go.
