Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

A warm, soothing turmeric and ginger latte made with creamy coconut milk and a medley of spices. Both turmeric and ginger are natural anti-inflammatories, making this a calming wind-down after a hard session or on a rest day. Think of it as an evening recovery ritual rather than carb-heavy fuel.

Ingredients

Latte

400 ml (1 can) coconut milk
400 ml milk of your choice
2 tbsp fresh ginger, coarsely grated, or 1 tsp ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, or 1 cinnamon stick
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch of sea salt
1-2 tbsp maple syrup or honey, to taste
Notes

The black pepper is functional, not just seasoning - piperine helps your body absorb curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, so do not skip it. This is not a carb-heavy recovery drink, so think of it as an anti-inflammatory evening ritual rather than post-run fuel. Warm and calming before bed. Lean toward maple syrup to keep it vegan-friendly.

Add the coconut milk and milk to a small saucepan over medium-low heat.

400 ml coconut milk
400 ml milk of your choice

Whisk in the ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt.

2 tbsp fresh ginger, coarsely grated
1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch of sea salt

Warm gently for 8-10 minutes, whisking occasionally, until steaming but not boiling. Do not let it come to a full boil.

Strain out the ginger (and cinnamon stick if used). Stir in maple syrup or honey to taste.

Pour into mugs and finish with a light dusting of cinnamon.
